Now available in your portal, the HSI Instructor Update Course is a requirement for all current HSI Authorized Instructors and Training Center Directors (TC).

When you take the Update Course as an Instructor and your TCD pays the course fee, you will receive all interim program materials with a breakdown of the new 2025 Guidelines.

The 51-page 2025 Guidelines Update with Interim Student Materials includes:

• A clear listing of all the updated 2025 Guidelines shown by specific programs.
• Charts with previous recommendations, the new or updated treatments, and the reason for the change.
• A quick-reference usage table of student handouts broken down by certification type.
• Replacement student handouts in a full-color format.

After the Instructor Update Course is completed and paid for, Instructors will receive access to the 2025 Guidelines Update with Interim Student Materials in the Documents and Resources section of the Instructor portal.

When updated HSI training programs become available, Instructors who completed the Instructor Update Course will be eligible to use them once they have been purchased.

HSI will follow our usual practice of providing a transition period when we release new programs to ensure a smooth update for our Instructors and Training Centers.

Instructors:

• Log in to your Otis dashboard.
• Click on the 2025 Guidelines Instructor Update Course launcher tile at the top of your screen.

Training Center Directors and Administrators:

Take the HSI Instructor Update Course:

• Log in to your Otis TC dashboard.
• Go to the left-side menu and click "Instructors".
• Click "Manage Instructors".
• Find your name in the list of Instructors.
• On the far right, click on the 3-dot menu icon.
• Select "Online Training". 
• Select the 2025 Guidelines Instructor Update Course button. 
• Alternatively, log in to Otis using your Instructor credentials and follow the directions for Instructors (above).

See Instructor progress and payments:

• Log in to your Otis TC dashboard.
• You'll see a new 2025 Guidelines Instructor Status Update tile at the top center of your dashboard.
• Click on this to see when an Instructor has taken the HSI Instructor Update Course.
• Approve payment for the course.

We recently shared a blog post about Renee Patterson, founder of Stress Free CPR. To make emergency education approachable for young learners, Renee created a series of children’s coloring books that introduce the basics of calling 911, CPR, and First Aid.
