What ESG Means for the Future of the EHS Professional

You’ve probably heard the term Environmental and Social Governance (ESG), and didn’t think much of it. ESG could change how we view workplace health and safety. This session will cover:

  • What is ESG? We’ll define ESG from a practical perspective, what does ESG look like at an organization and how it’s perceived by your workers, your customers and your community.
  • Implementing ESG at your organization. Tackling ESG doesn’t require you to take on a huge project and implement everything at once. We’ll break it down and identify how you can start small (but meaningful) and work your way up to bigger initiatives.
  • Organizational collaboration: we’ll discuss the importance of working with other professionals within your organization to shift from a “safety culture” to a “corporate ESG culture”. We’ll discuss strategies to engage with others, communication techniques, and how to shift from safety being an EHS dept driven to safety truly being everyone’s job.

ESG initiatives can be complex, daunting and task-intensive. Reporting on and improving ESG metrics as part of your company’s overall goals is a long-term effort.
